Dental Veneers

A great set of dental veneers can help your smile look straighter and whiter in just a few appointments. Because the shell-thin porcelain restorations mask your natural teeth, we can dramatically transform and correct aesthetic concerns such as:

  • Crowding
  • Gaps in your smile
  • Misshaped teeth
  • Discoloration and staining
  • Uneven enamel
  • Crooked teeth

The Veneer Design Process

Illustration of dental veneerDuring your consultation at Dental & Dentures on 88 Beach, we’ll talk about your smile and the changes you would like to see. Feel free to bring along photographs or magazines with examples that you like. As we discuss your concerns, be sure to point out what you like about your teeth as well as your primary concerns for enhancing their appearance.

After we settle on a colour, shape and size for your new veneers, we’ll plan a preparation appointment where the teeth are gently reshaped and an impression taken. The models are sent to our ceramists, where the permanent veneers are designed by hand. About two weeks later, they’re ready to be permanently bonded in place.

Because everyone’s smile is different, the number of veneers can depend on how wide your grin is or the visible teeth that are a concern. Most of our patients choose anywhere from 6-10 veneers or more.

The “Instant Braces”

Some people call veneers “instant braces” because of how quickly they work to make your smile appear straight.

But before you can get veneers, we need to make sure the teeth being treated are healthy and free of periodontitis or decay. Placing cosmetic restorations on unhealthy teeth will only lead to further complications later on.
